Irish Eyes Update

Here are the earrings that Ginny received as a gift:

Here is my visual motivation for Etainia:

Yes, I LOVE Taylor Swift and she has the perfect look for what I was going for!

Here are a couple links that give a brief background of the name Etainia:

http://www.babynamesofireland.com/pages/girl-names-d-g.html - Scroll down about halfway and you'll see "Etain surpassed all other women of her time in beauty and gentleness and thus was an object of jealousy herself...."

http://www.shee-eire.com/Magic&Mythology/Warriors&Heroes/Heroines/Etain-Echraide/Page1.htm - This one goes into a little more detail about the story, if you'd like to read.

Who did I choose to play Veturia?

So I usually don't choose real life actors and actresses to use as motivation in my stories, but I started it with this one and have decided to continue it, just for this story. Besides, it's kind of fun to picture my characters in my head and then see who I think could 'play that part' well.
In this chapter, we meet Evie's mum, Veturia. And who better to play her than Katharine Hepburn? She's one of my favorite actresses of all time!
I chose the name because the original Veturia was a Roman matron who supposedly saved Rome from being taken over by the Volscians when her son was expelled from the city and joined with them. She confronted her son and brought along his wife and children to plead her case. It was successful and Coriolanus left Rome. Veturia was honored for her courage, patriotism and strength. (Note the contrast to Medeana and her name!) You can read more about Veturia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veturia

Ginny's Doctor

Evie

I have to say, by doing this story and trying to use real places as much as possible, I've learned quite a bit about the area. If I can ever get to Ireland, I'd definitely visit Ardara and Donegal town! And I hadn't planned on using pictures of other actors and actresses, but I figured why not keep it going??
